DRAGON
(Dharma Harmony Records / TOUCH Samadhi – Jackson, MS)
www.glowing-dragon.com / www.dharmaharmony.com / www.touchsamadhi.com
Dragon is David Scruggs, co-founder of Dharma Harmony Records, established in 2007 with fellow trance pal DJ Qog. With over ten years of trance DJ'ing experience and five years in the studio producing, Dragon has gained the reputation for powerful trance sets that give a strong dose of organic and synthetic fusion. Performing his first live set at the AUM Festival in 2007, David has been working relentlessly on new material for his first album, set for release this summer on Dharma Harmony. He has a particular style of trance that embraces dark basslines and edgy leads which tear through the mind, exposing the primal core inside. Dragon has performed Coast to Coast alongside artists such as Electrypnose, Artifakt, Deviant Species, Naked Tourist, Scorb, and Pondscum just to name a few. When it comes to full-power psytrance, Dragon will leave you scorched!
SOLOMOON
(Metameme / Esoteric Gen / OneTribe – Denver)
www.metameme.org
My world was completely transformed in 1993 when I fatefully discovered the global movement of trance-ambient music. I immediately recognized this music as a timeless language that transcended not only musical genres, but also cultures and the delicate timeline of humanity. I took up the art of dj-ing in 1994 as a way to spread this aural meta-cine and share with others in the rediscovery of the ancient trance-dance ritual. Traveling great distances around the globe, I have sought communion with other trance nomads in hopes of understanding and raising awareness to what can be collectively achieved through this archaic tradition of ceremonial dance. As this musical language speaks to me, I attempt to translate to others by combining intelligent melodies and modern innovation with primal rhythms while staying true to the organic, tribal, ethnic sounds of the global village. I see and use this artistic medium of sound as a spiritual path for transcendence.
Figure 8 a.k.a. Mr. Black
(Cruise Control Records - Mississippi)
One of the youngest trance producers in the United States, Mr. Black also known as DJ Figure 8, is opening doors of an unknown reality to stompers all across the world. After spending several months in early 2006 with a mentor by the name of 'Dragon' - Mr. Black has developed his own style of Trance that leaves twisted thoughts and stories all implanted in the dance floor. Besides writing trance music, Mr. Black is the founder of Cruise Control Records, a new Record Label based out of the U.S. With many projects in store, be sure to buckle up and set your mind on cruise control as his music drives the dancefloor.
Tim Clark
(Deep Life Records / Demiurge Music - Illinois)
www.djtimothyclark.webs.com
During the year of 1998 Tim started to get involved with Electronic Dance Music. Attending weekly events at Cheetah Club in downtown St. Louis, he was exsposed to the some of the best local and national talent. The Piasa Tribe and Riverbend Collective Family started soon after. Who started throwing underground events. Soon he decided to produce his own music. In April of 2005 he released 12 tracks with DeepLife Records. To date he has over 52 releases from minimal, tribal, acid, and techno. Tim Clark has developed a unique electronic sound. He wants to give his audience the best experience possible and take them to new levels of consciousness. With 140 tracks produced, you will always be exsposed to a new developing sound.

Consisting of Brandon Maynard (Aquarium/The Malah, Greenville SC) and Cooper Howland (OpenSourceCode, NYC) NAIAD DAIAD adamantly refuse to recognise genre restrictions, rules, or recommendations about what music is supposed to sound like. Instead, we produce eclectic, freewheeling, effortlessly funky, outrageously danceable music. Equally suited to the chillout or the main stage, morning, noon or night, NAIAD DAIAD has been under construction for over a year, and is finally ready for your consumption!

I am in severe need of transport assistance to Survivor Syndrome. Attending it is a decision I made today, after discovering that "Ted" airlines can get me there for a $220 round trip. I will arrive at O'Hare Friday, 5/9 at 10pm, and will need to be back there by 4:30pm on Sunday, 5/11. If worst comes to worst, I will rent a car, for either the trip to Urbana, the trip back to O'Hare, or for both. But, that substantially negates my objective of keeping this affordable (I'm in a rough spot for trance expenses right now), so I'm hoping assistance can be offered without inconvenience (on anyone's part). I will throw down cash on gas, with PLEASURE.

Any takers? Please contact me @ nicksynergy@hotmail.com, as that is the fastest and most reliable way to reach me (I do not always have forum/Tribe access and will likely be unable to check much over the course of next week).

I am quite excited to come back in the Midwest to get down with all of you again. T'would be lovely to have some nice trancer folks to make the trek to Urbana with.

Over the past few years I have steadily been building up to producing and throwing events. From the very first rave I went to back in Arizona I knew that life was calling me there for a reason, to help develope culture and take part in memetically engineering the future of humanity. Since moving here to OK I have steadily faced obsticles in this starting with my origional partner going to jail, followed by the realization that none of the existing 'promoters' in town want to do anything remotely related to my vision. But through it I have pushed on, built a core group of individuals around me, and produced three events, each one being successful(i.e. every one had alot of fun, there were no complaints and no drama).

This past summer I've avoided investing in throwing parties and chose to travel instead, Texas, Illinois, Arkansas, and in a couple weeks california, and during those travels I found the Psy-scene. At first the music terrified me(my first psy party was touted as being one of the darkest) but quickly my mind adjusted to the new sound and I found that I love it. It's perfect for developing my musical vision...

Yesterday I helped a family friend move into a warehouse and worked out a deal to use it for a party in a couple months. This will be my biggest production yet, and logistically things are sound. But i want to help open Tulsa to Psy. Everybody here is steeped in dnb, and house, with a little enclave of electro kids to boot, and the DJ's think I'm crazy for wanting to play psy from 3 am- 6am. What suggestions and advice do you have for me?
Thanks in advance,
Some people suggested that I give some information about what I do so here I go. I go to grad school for international development and my major is human security. I focus on human trafficking and plan to pursue a career in that field once I graduate. I am currently volunteering for this organization and will be interning with them over the summer. They have a very small staff but are trying to expand. I have planned this event with the help of my boyfriend and 100% of the ticket sales go directly to the organization. Myself and the DJs are doing this soley to raise money for this cause. Now some info on human trafficking:

The trafficking of human beings is the recruitment, transportation, harbouring, or receipt of people for the purpose of exploitation. It is estimated to be a $5 to $9 billion-a-year industry. Trafficking victims typically are recruited using coercion, deception, fraud, the abuse of power, or outright abduction. Threats, violence, and economic leverage can often make a victim consent to exploitation.

Exploitation includes forcing people into prostitution or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labour or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude or the removal of organs. For children, exploitation may also include forced prostitution, illicit international adoption, trafficking for early marriage, or recruitment as child soldiers, beggars, or for religious cults.

I'd be more than happy to supply anyone with more information upon request. I don't want to write a book on here.

Protesters in Boston, Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa, Germany, Italy, Mysore, New Delhi, Chennai, Buffalo, Chile, Vienna, Israel, Denmark, Lithuania, Norway, Chicago, Bangkok, Seoul, New York, Sydney, London, San Francisco, Minnesota, Barcelona, Munich, Belgium, Taiwan, Paris, and even a vigil was held in Beijing. Unprecedented numbers of peace marchers, hunger strikes, vigils and protests in front of Chinese Embassies worldwide is surely not what the Communist Chinese Government had intended when they made the decision to 'crackdown' on Tibetans. One report even states that Tibetan protesters were gunned down in broad daylight in the streets of Lhasa. The Israeli parliament held a discussion about "the Genocide in Tibet".

Maybe the world is asking China to have compassion if they want to have their 'precious' Olympic Games if you read in between the lines. Several top athletes have already threatened to boycott the games and Beijing can't even promise clean air for them! I hope for a quick end to the utter stupidity and arrogance of the Chinese Authority in regards to the complete brutalization of any sense of the term 'human rights' amidst this 'crackdown' on autonomy ...
TRIBE CONNECTION V.1.0

SATURDAY, MARCH 08, 2008 IOWA CITY, IA

The meeting of the tribes... We send our signal through the airways to strengthen our ever-growing bonds, creating interconnectedness throughout the universal flow of the infinite vibrations that our existence is comprised of. Let our calls be heard through the whole land, as we blast out the pulsating basslines and rhythms alongside our fellow awareness-infused kindred. Release your ego, shine your senses and bring out your inner soul through the Trancedance. This is the formation of alliances, the compound of various elements, the Tribe Connection.
The Primordial Ooze project was created by DJ's Kaiser Soze and S.O.T. Flowing sounds that seem to bubble and evolve like primitive life forms. These bundles of frequencies collaborate in a swarm like manner, creating intelligent patterns and movement. The Ooze sound creates a unique twist on the ever changing sound of psychedelic music.
Androcell is an electronic dub / psychill project that began in 2003, created by audio producer and digital artist, Tyler Smith, also known as Quasga. Tyler has experimented with electronic sound forms for over 10 years, designing his music as an aural habitat for cognizant chillers who seek to experience downtempo excursions through sound.

-DISTANT SYSTEM *LIVE* //Colorado Springs, CO Celestial Dragon) www.distantsystem.com\\-
Distant System is a divergent, ambient / downtempo side-project that began in 2006, constructed by electronic producer, Tyler Smith (a.k.a. Androcell).

-MOKSA //Atlanta, GA ATLPsy/Touch Samadhi\\-
Having played his signature style of eclectic and pulsating psytrance on both the east and west coasts and points in between, Moksa now has his energy set on bringing Atlanta up as an established community within the US psytrance movement. As a dj with more than 8 years experience and a member of the well respected Touch Samadhi family, Moksa has embraced the Goa spirit by expanding his library of earth-vibrating tracks. His intimate knowledge of the powerful psychedelic trance style contributes to his grassroots effort to spread love and energy to his fans. Moksa has a phenomenal style that has matured through a passion to move the spirit of his listeners.

-MICHAEL CURRAN //Atlanta, GA ATLPsy/Touch Samadhi\\-
A dj of over 12 years, Michael started djing in and around the Atlanta area in 1995. Already versed in a number of EDM genres, he made the move to an all psytrance format in the late '90s, opening the door to performances and an eventual residency with Asheville NC's Touch Samadhi psytrance collective. Since then, he has played at numerous indoor and outdoor events across the southeast, and as one of the founding members of AtlPsy, continues to win over new audiences with eclectic dj sets that span the spectrum from dark and demonic to full-on funk and progressive grooves, exploring all shades in between.

First and foremost he is a dancer inspired by a profound love for music and is devoted to spreading the sounds that make him dance.

-PARADIGM //SF,CA--KC,MO Xcience\\-
I would like to invite Bigwigs to come back to North America this summer to celebrate their latest release "The National Heroes of Sonic Parallel." If you are a interested in making a booking please contact me privately.

Who said that the psy-trance genre runs short on talent and style?
Well even if it’s true, this album is here to prove the opposite!
Psychedelic Funk mashed up with a Mental Blues?!?!?
Well…

Bigwigs are Jurek Przezdziecki (EPI CENTRUM AND MASS TURBO) and Grzegorz Magnuszewski (KINO OKO) -two well respected Sonic Architects from Warsaw ,Poland - delivering their second long waited album after their original full length Bigwigs debut on Digital Structures records ,but it was 4 years ago…Bigwigs are well known for their innovative, fresh musical ideas and the unforgettable eccentric live performances. This album is a unique , fresh and extremely addictive sonic venture-the collaboration of scatterbrained and compulsive , the collective of noises in varying degrees of twitchy, restless (in) sanity competing for one mind.That’s what happens when two artists stepping outside their regular roles to make what feels like a genuinely instinctive, mental-fuelled record that zings with an enthusiasm for all spectrum's of todays modern electronic dance music. As we approach the end-point of 2007 it's unlikely that a more vivid or arresting release will drop this year, marking The National Heroes of Sonic Parallel as not only an audacious accomplishment, but one of the year's best releases.

And here is the message from the Bigwigs themselves:

Bigwigs is an experimental project, from it’s out set and forever. Our music stems from the color and diversity which surrounds us. Inspired by many genres and periods which do not fit today’s electronic music form, we create a separate world of musical illustrations rich in harmony, rhythm and stories. We present you with our point of view and our definition of body and mind engaging music. We want the diversity of our compositions to give you the possibility to reach beyond the horizon of your sensations and contacts with electronic music thus far. Our goal is to offer original and controversial solutions, strong and deep emotions. With this album we hope that you will feel as we did when we made it. During the recording we never met once. The recording process was 3 months of exchanging musical ideas. We exchanged pieces of music until the final composition was ready. We are very satisfied with the end result. We would like to thank you for purchasing the album and devoting your time to listening to it.

Bigwigs

samples can be heard
www.saikosounds.com/english/display_release.asp?id=6940

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the coming weeks I will be making press kits + a bigwigs promotional cd to send out to whomever is interested.
thanks! and i look forward to hearing from you!!
Now that cold weather is here, the festival season is over. But that doesn't mean the end of good times and connective gatherings. The heads around Kansas City are getting together at AaronRecyles' house on the evening of December 8 for a cozy house party. We want to enjoy good music, jam together, and throw around plans for future happenings. We hope this smaller gathering will be a good opportunity to get to know each other better.
There is a lot of space for dancing and pow-wowing. We'd love to see old friends and meet new characters. There's also plenty of crash space but bring air mattresses and bedding.
We'll be pumping the choons all night long. If you're a DJ or musical artist and want to play, let me know as soon as possible. We'll probably have an informal flexible line-up.
their beloved Leader Gnome, who is lost somewhere in a funny shaped
state called Texas, they wandered Earth aimlessly in search of something
new, they stomped, danced and created music with a new fangled
technology called.... laptop.... but it did not fill the void, or the
The box wine grew low, the future looked bleak. PsiloPsyBens cat
Then one day a lovely Fairy Psy Mistress came to them with good
This is the first mix ive recorded in well over a year. It is suited for that time of morning just as the first rays of sun are begining to break the horrizon. The mix builds from minimal full on, with ever increasing melodies and basslines untill a climatic finish with a gentle let down at the end.
I hope you enjoy this, as this mix is deeply personal for me, as a dear family member passed away while i was recording it. As a result, its a live recording, with no redos, or studio editing. I felt that i wanted to capture that moment, and preserve it just as it was... thus making this mix all the more special and personal....
Twisted D.U.O. - Las Vegas, NV
(Shiva Studios / NV604 www.myspace.com/twistedduo)
"Twisted DUO is a project that is the mastermind of one man, a Las Vegas based dj named Digital Defiant. The project Twisted DUO was designed to be a cybernetic collective in which Digital Defiant is the creative axis. With influences ranging from Ravi Shankar to Depeche Mode and from electronic influences from Brian Eno to Underworld the sounds Twisted DUO are best described as one contributing member called it, "Twisted steel with sex appeal." Sexy, yet psychedelic. Energetic, yet mellow. Exploring sounds that are not only cerebral but topically invigorating. This is music designed to reach those living on the brink of two separate world.
The mission of this collective, as passed down from the gods of techno in the cosmos, is to expand the performance of the electronic music dj. Embracing technology as tools to manipulate sound and forge it into an abyssal of thought, motion, and intrigue. Learn to refuse the programming set inside you to resist natural urges. It's okay to be blissful and content. It's okay to express yourself in a creative manner. Leaning to love yourself will then teach you to love others. Being content with your state of being will allow to not only express yourself freely, but accept others (with all thier flaws intact). This will in turn lead to a a blissful existence."
Force Majeure - Austin, TX
(TOUCH Samadhi people.tribe.net/forcemajeure)
A staple of the Texas psy scene Force Majuere combines perfect technique with prolific track selection. His dark and heavy style draws in and moves the souls of dancers ever where he goes. Mark is a great person all around, from his music and creativity to his open conversation, he is a true supporter of the movement and all those around him.
Gift Culture - Dallas, TX : live PA
(Psymbolic Sounds, www.myspace.com/giftculturemusic/)
"The Gift Culture project is based on sounds, imagery, and art derived from DSP technology, analogue synthesis, and computer-based non-linear editing. As Gift Culture maestro Michael Hale explains,
' In this day and age, it is possible to sculpt light and sound as if they were clay. Any possible sound you can imagine can be created.'
Gift Culture is the result - his attempts to share his explorations in this multi-dimensional space; to evoke sonic textures from samplers, synthesizers, and DSP algorithms that can only come from those things; a journey to discover their "voices", so to speak, using such techniques as granular synthesis, spectral resynthesis, FFT/IFFT based spectral morphing and interpolation, and whatever other exotic algorithms he can coax out of his myriad machines. "
Freedom - Feyetteville, AR
(Esoteric Generation)
A leader and long time veteran of the Northwest Arkansas Psychedelic trance scene freedom has been pleasing crowds for years. His dark and heavy sound is sure to get your boots scootin.
Artificial Life Preserver - Dallas, TX (live pa?)
(Psymbolic Sounds www.myspace.com/artificial...ervermusic)
"ALP has been working to preserve algorythms that behave like living systems since 1997. Insect-like drones and cell based beats drive environmental mixes of organized time units. Drawing from his experience as a member of Texas Psy-trance trio Init-String ALP will bring you a night of abstract, glitchy downtempo that could only come from a mind such as this."
Never in my life have i experienced a Psytrance event so amazing. EVERYTHING about this event contributed to making it by far, the best Psytrance event i have ever been a part of. From the organization / entry, to finding the camp sites and feeling out the venue, from the amazing art work, to the sacredness of the land, from the ridiculous amount of talent and positive energy just RAGING at this event to the awesomeness of the vendors... AUM surpassed my expectations by far... and then some!
It is hard to experience a party as ridiculous in magnitude as AUM festival, and somehow believe that parties could get any better. I find myself questioning myself constantly, totally baffled at what just happened over the past weekend. It just keeps happening....! Psytrance events in the USA are just getting better and better, achieving new levels of energy, deco, attendance, vibe, and several other aspects as well. After experiencing AUM, it is almost unbelievable to think that in two years, AUM 2 will blow most certainly blow AUM 1 away.... whats even harder to believe, is that in between AUM 1 and AUM 2 over the next two years, there will be several other events put on by other fellow Psytrance lovers that promise to blow all of our minds again, and again, and again.
What we have going in this country, and in this world, is the absolute most amazing network i have ever dreamed to be a part of. This weekend i experienced life and existence in a form that is as good as it gets, in my opinion. Total satisfaction, total cleansing of the mind and body, total bonding amongst friends, all facilitated by this special, intelligent kind of dance music, and all of the creativity and positive energy that flows merely seconds behind it. No material possession or physical experience could ever top that which was AUM... that which is a true, Psytrance-dance experience. I look forward to experiencing many more with you guys, and i look forward to contributing as much as possible at future events. PEACE
Trancendental Meditation Complete.
I couldnt have asked for a better weekend. THANK YOU AUM and ALL of its ATTENDEES!
P.S. - For those who were complaining about the dominance of dark and lack of Full On, i sympathize with you, as i am also a true lover of rich melody as the sun rises in the morning.... but AUM successfully found a way to have dark nearly the whole time, while maintaining progression and flow throughout the night, and into the morning. Greg on Earth's set Sunday morning was an amazing example of this.... as his low, rumbling bass lines are not too intense for the morning, and give you a "robot awakening" feel as the earth comes alive as the new days begins. AWESOME FUCKING PARTY one more time!
My name is Carli and this will be my first year out to Burning man. My partner, Derek and I will be celebrating our wedding and having a party Thursday night in the laser dome. Were currently looking for any Psy /  Goa / trance / good music :) dj's interested in throwing down a set. I believe we'll have both cdj's as well as turn tables ( have to check on that). The party will go till sunrise, so chill dj's are welcome for morning sets too.
If you're interested, please post or email   Blaize224@gmail.com. There's no time limit on sets, it's a wonderful opportunity to have your music heard by many without any restraint. Lots of lights, fire, and fun!!!
About the Album & Artist:
Brooding, ambient, experimentation, improvisation, filled with emotion… These are some of the words that describe the sound of Evan Marc (aka Bluetech). A classically trained pianist and master of the art of software production, Evan’s love of the melodic and exquisite sense of sound design makes him one of the most ingenious producers today.
Evan achieved international recognition and success with his downtempo / chill-out project, Bluetech, making waves in the chill-out world with his unique sound and top-notch production quality.  He released three full length albums on Aleph Zero Records and Waveform Records, as well as starting his own imprint, Native State Records, and touring internationally.  A need to expand his sound led him to explore his love for tech-house resulting in his latest album, “Emotional Ecology.”
On “Emotional Ecology,” Evan delves into the deeper side of tech-house, presenting a melodic and dub influenced album with a focus on dance floor usability and emotional development.
"I really wanted to make an album which brought a sense of the sacred to the dance floor,” Evan says of the album.  “I've always loved the sense of play that people feel when they release themselves to the moment in dance.  It's light hearted, healing, and holy all at the same time.  This album was written for people who dance.  It was written to make a safe space for people to let themselves go and experience magic through movement."
The album is already receiving support and play from influential DJs, labels, and artists spanning a variety of electronic music genres including Gordon Field (Interchill Records), Gio (Dakini Records / Makyo), Taho (Lumina Records), System 7, and more. Evan’s signature touch on the tech-house sound is sure to make “Emotional Ecology” a stand out release in the genre and a sought after release for collectors who know premium quality electronic music.
PsyBooty Records is proud to present yet another ground breaking, genre bending masterpiece by Evan Marc.
Reviews:
“One of the worlds leading purveyors of IDM brings his talents to the world of tech house, with his classic melodies and soaring dub beats, Evan Marc drops an intelligent, deep and beautiful album for the dance floor.”  – Michael Hodgson (Pitch Black, Dubmission Records)
"Evan's sound is as always, unique and inspiring.  Its dance music you can chill to.  Un-offensive, but still bumping - right where my heart is headed these days!” – Simon Baring (Twisted Records)
"Once again Evan reveals his depth and versatility as one of the most innovative musician/producers around.  Emotional Ecology is a brilliant cross-over travelogue that's sure to rock clubs and trance floors world wide." – Naasko (Label Manager, Interchill Records)
“Wonderful rich deep housey grooves, imbued with Evan’s distinctive sonic signature that we so appreciate on his Bluetech releases. We’ve been playing this a lot and it’s really one of our favorites at the moment.”  – Steve Hillage & Miquette Giraudy (System 7)
"Solid leading edge debut album from Evan Marc – highly recommended” – Andrew Ross Collins (Interchill Records, Macro Records, Mariko Music Publishing)
Label Description : Sonic Tantra Records is psychedelic trance label based in India. It is a group of global artists who believe in pushing the edges of the consciousness into magical dimensions using hyper active sonic crafts. The label was founded in 2006 by Sid aka aGh0Ri TanTriK, with the sole intention of pushing the techniques and styles of psytrance into new possibilities! Highly influenced by this company of artists, the objective was to achieve an artistic trance like state where the spirits are joined to become one! This ensures that an energetic change in reality takes place, just like the ancient "Tantra" related rituals and practices. Finally Sonic Tantra releases and artists are banging in the psyscene and creating some very groovay tunage!
Ritual Ethnology and Spirituality
“[trance dancing]… a divine vessel for personal and global transformation through ceremony, dance, music, light, food and personal interaction.”             -Robin Sylvan (1)
Throughout all of time, the human species has combined the sonic driving of rhythmic and repetitious drumbeats with ecstatic dance to induce trance states which facilitate a transition between ordinary reality and spiritual community.  Inherent in the human condition, trance dancing directly relates to a person’s absolute being and conceptualization of the self.  These trance dance rituals enable people with spiritual connectivity as well as define them culturally.  Trance dancing exists as a tribal societal function which allows the participants to come together in dance and celebration for primary religious experience, spiritual growth, and community (Sylvan, Trance, 1).  Trance dance theology is enacted in ritual, as it is displayed with careful consideration and specific intent.  The trance dance ritual becomes a working part of the community and serves its function like a rite of passage or spiritual quest.  Participating trance dancers embrace its cultural and communal aspects simultaneous with its profoundly spiritual and personally religious potential.  The spiritual nature harnessed within the trance is expressed and sanctified through dance ritual.  One can use the altered states of consciousness or trance generated by trance dancing to create a ritual container that directs the energies toward sacred goals: prayer, healing, vision, and divine guidance (CIIS).
Trance dancing has existed in most all cultures in some form or another.  Focused, defined, and acted trance dance rituals are dominantly present in indigenous and tribal cultures, but have been observed within modern global culture as well.  The integration of pre-existing trance dance practices with new methods of trance induction and musical expression creates a contemporary global concept of trance dancer spirituality.  The existence of “primitive” trance dance ritual notions in modern society gives more credibility to understanding that trance dancing is inherent in the spirit and instinctive to humanity.  Trance dancing in the modern sense transcends its traditional relevance and is highly “advanced”.  Modern day trance dancing is reflective of the modern day regardless of its primitive origin, making it less defined by tradition and more by experience.  The modern experience is extremely technological and operates under a digital guise of collective consciousness and modern cultural construction.  Communities exist between modems and spiritual enlightenment is delivered through science and existential use of high-tech facilitation.  Even though technology is strongly integrated, the use of it remains at a low level of reverence; the sense of modernity does not alienate the fundamental and animalistic human experience in trance dancing as much as it has in general modern culture.  Our basic nature is the source of ultimate meaning and value in the purest form, but now it has become an “artifact” in modern cultural development (McKibben, 17).
Music and trance dance have continued to be a part of culture and religion throughout time and space.  As music entered the modern age it began to reflect humanity’s exploration in science and technology, as did everything else.  Shamans have been replaced by pharmacies, religion has been confronted by science, and drums have been synthesized.  Tribal beats are now represented in electronic dance music.  Electronic music flourished as a new genre of music, but also as a culturally defined and profoundly spiritual phenomenon. Globalization and technology are concurrent to the conception and divination of electronic music application in modern trance dance ritual.  As technology and essentially electronic music, spreads around the world it infuses itself with existing indigenous cultural tradition, diverse trance induction, and musical inclination.  The integration of pre-existing trance dance practices with new methods of trance induction and musical expression creates a contemporary global concept of trance dancer spirituality.
Modernity and advanced technology put constraint on the progression of the human species as communally cooperative and spiritually operative beings.  Old and seemingly forgotten ideology expressed in trance dance ritual is revived and revitalized by new age spiritualists in counter-culture.  Contemporary trance dance tribes enact a future-primal sense of traditional rituals with modern application.  They fully embrace new technology and scientific theory, only it is applied in ways subservient to nature and deconstructive to the present constriction of modernity.  The essence of trance dancing is brought alive by breaking down concepts of modernity, deconstructing preexisting habits and beliefs, and by surrendering unnatural ego facets.  The human condition is then sowed with ancient methodology and germinated in traditional ideals.  Aside from some ancient memory and cultural intuitiveness the modern sense of trance dancing is made from scratch in a cut and paste sort of fashion.
Trance dancing is not pertinent to the danced aspect of the ritual, but is distinctly characterized by it.  Contemporary and ancient trance dances both incorporate much more into the experience as each are performed as events or multi-faceted rituals.  Just the trance dance performance alone leaves the ritual incomplete.  There is emphasis on communal order, performance, microcosmic ritual, and experiential reality.  Trance dancing exists in duality as the trance is invoked in vision quests and theological conceptualism and is embodied by experience and physical movement of dance.  Trance dancing, however, is neither more “trance” nor more “dance”.  The concept is symbiotic as each interacts with and affects the other.  Music and dance is a trance enabler as it is also a product of trance.  It is a fluid fusion of human experience and spiritual connotation.  Both assets can be measured and observed as a whole with the practice of ethnomusicology, the anthropological study of music’s interaction and connection with culture.
Every trance dance ritual has uniform similarities and universal modality, but each remains unique in specific tradition and culturally definitive history.  Trance dancing theology is inherent to human condition and archetypal formulas, but is specialized and self-created in ritual expression.  Cultures define themselves by their rituals as they act out personal life dramas and confront closed social matters.  The sustainability of the self and the collective depends on these types of rituals.  Trance dance ritual is a sort of social grooming that operates on multiple levels of inherent group structure.  Cross-cultural comparisons are made with the use of ethnomusicology and it is found that many cultures share the same concepts of trance dance, but express them with amazing individuality and diversity.
Trances are states where one can confront fears, act out inner conflicts, and experience “catharsis” or emotional release (Bowen, 101).  Community specific dramas are acted out within each unique “danced” trance ritual.  One of the most dramatic rituals is performed by the women of Harasiddhi, south of Kathmandu.  There they enact dramas to ensure the stability of their personal and communal universe, making the essential link between the microcosmic reality of village life and personal experience and the macrocosmic reality of elemental forces in the universe (Sardar).  Linking these concepts is illustrated by the Mbuti people in the central Congo region.  The Mbuti tribe directly links their ideology of Molimo, the sound and spirit of the forest, with the experience of sound and with a musical contraption, also referred to as Molimo.  The direct association of spiritual belief with material culture and physical sensation is an elemental part of trance dance.
There is a saying in Africa that puts the cultural relation into perspective, it says “show me your dance and I’ll tell you where you’re from”.  This saying puts relevance to specific community in trace dance performance.  Many cultures keep there own cultural individuality and notoriety preserved with dance tradition, such as the Celtic and Swedish and Native American cultures.  Specific dances, belly dancing for example, are turned into cultural icons.  Other cultures have dance facilitation for more than just definitive purpose but also functional.  Islamic Sufis are known and characterized by their “whirling Dervish dance” which inducts them into trance.  Sufis wear unique clothing that flows through the air as they spin around.  The dance form enables the Sufis to reach deep trance while simultaneously giving them character and applicable association with their spiritual/religious belief.
The Bible reveals religious connection and spiritual association with music in many of its stories.  Music is used for exorcism of demons within Saul’s soul with the aide of David’s lyre (Rouget, 154).  Trance dance is not onl
